Bell Choirs

First has a tradition of great bell choirs, known for pushing the envelope of bell music into areas you may not expect.  There are three choirs for adult ringers and one for youth.  The groups play on five and a half octaves of U.S.-made Schulmerich handbells and four octaves of handchimes.  Each choir will play in the traditional Sunday services four times a year.  The bell choirs also host concerts in the Christmas season and the first Sunday in May.  Most of our ringers were trained right here, and we can train you, too.  Bell choirs are a fun way to be a part of the music ministry.  Aaron Hansen directs Chapel Ringers and Les Cloches d'Or for adult ringers.  He's a music educator and a bell soloist who can get the best out of his groups - even new ringers.  Nancy Standafer directs Tower Bells for adult ringers.  Nancy is a music educator and arranges many of the pieces performed by Tower Bells.  Joe Bohr directs the youth choir, Reverie Ringers.  Joe is a retired high school teacher who connects well with young people and has been involved with bell music for nearly 30 years.  We always have room for new ringers.  If you'd like to join or just listen, check the calendar for rehearsal times.
