"Brown Baggers" Emmaus Reunion Group
Stay in touch with others who have had the Walk to Emmaus, Cursillo, or Chrysalis experience. Bring your dinner and meet in the library for sharing and open discussion of issues of faith. We meet at 5:30 and are done in an hour, leaving time to go on to other evening groups and studies.

Tuesday Quilters
The quilters and stitchers meet on Tuesdays in room 159 from 9:30 until 3:00 and work on a variety of projects. There is no set time for any given activity and persons come and go as their schedules permit -- The quilters are usually working on quilts for the Thanksgiving Ingathering Quilt Auction. Sewers (the machines are in the room) work on making school bags, kimonos or other mission projects, ironers press the items that need pressing. Some people knit sweaters for the Ingathering layettes, some get items ready to pack in the Ingathering kits, and others bring their own projects from home to work on and come for the fellowship.
Food Bank Work Crew
A group from FUMC will be going to the Northeast Iowa Food bank the first Tuesday of each month from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Kids are welcome with adult supervision. No special skills are needed-a heart for mission, a patient disposition, and a sense of humor does come in handy, though.
Breakfast & a Book
The group of reading enthusiasts have decided that we like to eat breakfast as well! We are changing the book group days and times to accommodate both passions. Join us the first Saturday of each month for Breakfast and a Book. We’ll start out the academic year with breakfast at 9:00 at Cedar Falls Village Inn on Saturday, September 5, and a discussion about the book, “Home to Holly Springs” by Jan Karon. Here is a review of the book:
“For the first time in decades, retired Episcopal Priest Father Tim returns to his birthplace, Holly Springs, Mississippi, in response to a mysterious, unsigned note saying simply: “Come home.” Little does he know how much these two words will change his life. A story of long-buried secrets, forgiveness, and the wonder of discovering new people, places, and depth of feeling, Home to Holly Springs will enthrall new readers and longtime fans alike.”
